Huli means "to turn" and we have "turned" up the flavor of this popular Hawaiian chicken recipe by adding A Taste of Thai Garlic Chili Pepper Sauce.
Time: 15 minutes to assemble
2-4 hours to marinate
12-16 minutes to grill
Yield: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
1/3 cup A Taste of Thai Garlic Chili Pepper Sauce
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4/ cup soy sauce
1/4 cup limeade concentrate
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon minced garlic
8-10 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
Salt and pepper
1 lime cut into wedges
Directions:
1. Add Garlic Chili Pepper Sauce, sugar, soy sauce, limeade, ketchup, cornstarch, and garlic to a medium bowl. Whisk well until combined and cornstarch is completely dissolved.
2. Pat chicken dry. Salt and pepper. Lay chicken in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Reserve 1/3 cup sauce and pour the rest over the chicken. Turn chicken until all side are covered in sauce. Marinate2-4 hours but no less. Turn chicken over half way through marinating time.
3. Preheat grill to a medium-high heat. Oil grill grates and grill chicken turning every 4 minutes or so until done. Brush with reserved sauce as chicken cooks. Chicken is done when juices run clear or temperature reaches 160 F on a meat thermometer. Squeeze lime wedges over chicken and serve.
